The Winner!

"Saint Louis University in Stained Glass" by Emily O'Keefe

This design was inspired by the windows in the College Church. The sides of the cow reflect what I think campus would look like it pictured in a stained glass window. One side of the cow shows the College Church, the Griesedieck Complex, and the clocktower. The other side shows SLU Hospital, the Billiken standing by a fountain, and one of the many archways on campus. The face of the cow shows the University logo in a decorative circle.

My design overall related to the theme of school spirit. It shows pride in our campus, and the stained glass motif symbolizes the way that life here is influence by Jesuit values.

Contest Background

You've probably heard of the public art exhibit called "Cows on Parade." It's been all over the world, and now it's at to Saint Louis University!

Well, sorta. Thanks to the City of Chicago, SLU received one of the last, untouched fiberglass cows.

Now its time to choose the winner! We are pleased to present the five finalists in the first-ever, University-wide design competition, MOO@SLU.

Not only will the artist of the design that is selected win cash and prizes, but he or she will actually win the opportunity to immortalize the design forever on this wild and udder-ly fantastic sculpture!
